For the first time, Medellín will host the Colombia VC Week. The 2024 edition in Bogotá brought together over 1,600 people, including visitors and investors. In May 2025, Medellín will be the venue for Colombia VC Week, supported by the Mayor’s Office, Rockstart, and On.going, the entrepreneurship center at Eafit University.
This is one of the most important venture capital events in Latin America, connecting the region’s potential for economic development. It also positions the city as a hub for investment and entrepreneurship. “From the District of Science, Technology, and Innovation, we recognize the potential of startups as a starting point for generating economic and social development in the city. Therefore, we are committed to strengthening the entrepreneurial culture. We welcome this event that boosts investment in various business initiatives,” said María Fernanda Galeano, Secretary of Economic Development.
The 2024 edition in Bogotá gathered over 1,300 people and 300 investors, resulting in around 750 one-on-one meetings between attendees. Colombia VC Week is an initiative by Colombian investors who aim to invigorate the startup industry through collaboration.
