In 2023, the city of Medellín has already welcomed over one million tourists, continuing its upward trend in tourism. The city had closed the previous year, 2022, with 1.3 million tourists, surpassing expectations. With this current trajectory, 2023 is anticipated to end with even higher numbers. Time Out magazine ranked Medellín third among the best cities to visit, based on global city rankings derived from survey data. This recognition cements the city’s status as a leading tourist destination, comparable to other popular Colombian locations like Cartagena, Santa Marta, and San Andrés. Time Out particularly highlighted Provenza and the Laureles neighborhood as top tourist spots in the city.
Medellín Surpasses One Million Tourists in 2023
Since 2018, I have lived in Medellín. My role as a digital nomad over the past decade initially brought me to the city, and I quickly became fond of it during a three-month stay. Beyond the pleasant climate, I appreciate Medellín's green environment and the nearby charming villages with unique microclimates. My interests include travel, exploring diverse cuisines, and studying history. I hope this website will enable me to share my experiences and offer insights to those curious about Medellín and Colombia.
