The city of Medellín is hosting a vibrant celebration of dance with its “Medellín Sí Danza” festival from April 1st to May 5th. This month-long event features a diverse array of dance-related activities, including academic discussions, workshops, performances, and beginner-friendly classes.
The festival showcases the wide range of dance styles present in Medellín’s cultural landscape. Attendees can explore everything from classical ballet and urban dance to salsa, tango, and traditional Colombian dances like porro and bambuco.
“Medellín Sí Danza” will take place at various locations throughout the city, including educational institutions, cultural centers, the UVA de San Antonio de Prado, the Casa del Teatro de Medellín, shopping malls, and even the Museo de Antioquia. This widespread accessibility aims to introduce dance to new audiences and support local talent.

International Dance Day (April 29th) will feature a children’s workshop at the Casa de la Cultura Pedregal, performances at the Palacio de la Cultura Rafael Uribe Uribe, and a special showcase at the Unicentro plaza with an audiovisual presentation by Metro and the Medellín Mayor’s Office.
