The Medellín Metro’s Lines A and B now provide free WiFi at all stations, thanks to an investment of over 2.7 billion pesos from the Metropolitan Area and the Medellín Metro. This project enhances internet access for millions of users annually, covering 29 stations and the San Antonio station on the Ayacucho Tram.
The service, which includes two 300-megabyte internet channels, aims to facilitate communication, emergencies, and access to educational and recreational opportunities. Since its partial implementation in 2022, the daily average of connections has reached 300,000. The Metropolitan Area contributed 1.076 billion pesos, while the Medellín Metro provided 1.620 billion pesos in kind.
