Three Colombian nationals are facing federal charges in Miami for allegedly drugging, abducting, and robbing two U.S. Army soldiers in Bogota in March 2020. Jeffersson Arango, Kenneth Uribe, and Pedro Silva are accused of kidnapping, assault, and conspiracy. The soldiers were found with no memory of the events and missing their wallets, cellphones, and other possessions.
A joint investigation by the FBI and the Colombian National Police discovered surveillance footage of the suspects drugging the soldiers’ drinks and escorting them out of a bar. Arango and Uribe were arrested in December, while it is unclear if Silva has been apprehended. Arango made his first appearance in Miami’s federal court after being extradited.
