The Cerro Tusa Natural and Archaeological Park, situated in the municipality of Venecia, Antioquia, Colombia has reached 64% completion. Funded by Comfama with an investment of $8.800 million, the park is currently open to visitors as the remaining construction progresses. This initiative covers an area of 135.06 hectares and includes 1,200m² of lightweight wooden structures elevated from the ground. Additionally, the park boasts 4,300m² of green terraces, lookouts, and open-air spaces, integrating seamlessly with the natural landscape.
Managed and operated by a partnership between Comfama and the Empresa de Parques y Eventos de Antioquia – ACTIVA, the project has been developed in consultation with local communities and tourism service providers, reflecting a collaborative approach. Oscar Sánchez, the mayor of Venecia, Colombia expressed immense gratitude for the project, highlighting its role in economic and social development, conservation of heritage and nature, and the preservation of the region’s archaeological wealth. The Ecoparque Cerro Tusa is not just a recreational space but a symbol of environmental stewardship and cultural significance for Antioquia.
