Despite concerns over the reduced flow in the Cali and Meléndez rivers due to the El Niño phenomenon, the city’s water supply remains secure. The CVC and Celsia have managed the Salvajina Multipurpose Reservoir’s levels effectively, with current storage at 48%. This proactive management aims to lower the reservoir to 41% capacity by the end of March, in anticipation of the rainy season, ensuring the city’s water needs continue to be met without interruption.
Cali’s Water Supply Secured Amid El Niño Phenomenon Thanks to Effective Salvajina Dam Management
Since 2018, I have lived in Medellín. My role as a digital nomad over the past decade initially brought me to the city, and I quickly became fond of it during a three-month stay. Beyond the pleasant climate, I appreciate Medellín's green environment and the nearby charming villages with unique microclimates. My interests include travel, exploring diverse cuisines, and studying history. I hope this website will enable me to share my experiences and offer insights to those curious about Medellín and Colombia.
